Interesting Information about the Triathlon:
This was Eric Sorensen's fourth Reston Triathlon win.
Terry Smith and Neil Medoff, best friends and training partners, finished their 17th Reston Triathlon. Both were on the original committee and helped create the course.
U.S. Representative Tom Davis and Hunter Mill County Supervisor Cathy Hudgins kicked off the race.
Over 500 volunteers helped.
The excitement engendered by this event is uniquely typical of the Reston-Herndon community. The volunteers, supporters, and spectators all contribute to its success. The athletes get great support.
The event has the support of the Virginia Department of Transportation, the Police Department from the Reston substation, Herndon REACT, the Boy Scouts, and the Young Marines.
