The 2010 race will be held on Sunday, September 12th.

Registration for the 2010 race is complete. The race is FULL. There is no waiting list.

ATTENTION FIRST-TIME TRIATHLETES: You are very strongly advised to participate in the fun lake swim on September 5th. If you are not familiar with open water swimming, this is for you. It is very different from any pool, and there isn't any edge to hang on to when you feel tired. Also, there are wavelets and splashing which can be disconcerting. So, please come out and try it. You will be glad you did! The Clinic is at the lake on September 5, 2010 at Lake Audubon. Registration starts at 7am. The cost is $15 and includes the one day insurance coverage from USA Triathlon. No pre-registration is required. Just show up.

The Marriott Residence Inn on the corner of Elden Street and Herndon Parkway is offering a $59 rate for studio suites (Sept. 10-12). Included in this rate is a complimentary full breakfast buffet and free Internet.

THE COURSE

SWIM 1 Mile: in Reston's Lake Audubon (only permitted during the race). See this NOTE about the lake.

BIKE 22.3 Miles: three laps on moderately hilly roadways in Reston. The first two laps are identical. The third lap changes course and finishes at the high school.

Run 10Km (6.2 Miles): on shaded Reston pathways, starting and ending at the high school stadium.
